As of last term, we returned to paper-based homework, which we is given out on a Friday and returned to school on the following Friday.
The homework consists of a reading comprehension task and an arithmetic task, where the children will be able to hone their skills of using written methods to solve.
Common Exception words: In the children’s Reading Record book we have put all the common exception words for Year 2 at the front.
You will also find them on the Beech spellings page on this website.
The children will need to be able to spell these correctly by the end of the year, we will be testing them throughout the year.
Number Bonds: Children are also tested weekly in a timed, 4 minutes, mental math test on a specific number bond. The children will be moved on to the next stage when they have completed a full set.
You can find examples of the tests to practice with your child on the Beech number bonds page on this website.
Spellings are sent home every Friday we ask that the children remember to bring their spelling books in so that the tests can be completed in them and the new spellings given.
Feel free to still use reading eggs and mathletics but please be advised that set tasks will not be put up/given.
Please refer to your children's reading record books, where at the back you will find their mathletics and reading eggs usernames and passwords.
If you have any questions about the homework, please don’t hesitate to ask!
