A warm welcome to our class page!

We are Birch Class, an excitable class of 29 children who love coming to school, working together and learning lots of new and exciting things! On our class page you will find lots of information about our current topic and about what we have learnt in other terms.

Our class teacher is Miss Taylor and our teaching assistant is Mrs Chapman.

Please explore our class page and familiarise yourself with the different areas. Miss Taylor likes to update our class page regularly so make sure you come back soon to see what's new! If you would like anything to be added to the class page, please speak to Miss Taylor and she'll be happy to help.

In Term 3 our PE day is Friday! Please ensure your child has a full PE kit in school including trainers now that the weather is damper outside.

Our current topic is Muck, Mess and Mixtures!

As you are aware, children have all been given a CGP SATs revision book. This will now be their homework, alongside regular reading and spellings. The CGP books are fantastic and something we use in class regularly so the children are very familiar with them.

Homework tasks will be set on Friday. The page number will be circled along with the date so that you are aware of which pages are to be completed that week. Homework books need to be handed in by the following Friday so that they can be marked and new homework set. Of course, if your child completes their homework sooner, please send it back in readiness for the Friday.

KS1 SAT Buster Reading pages this week are: 33, 34, 35 and 36

KS1 SAT Buster Reasoning pages this week are: 20 and 21

Upcoming Dates:

Week beginning 20th January: Secret Agent Training Level 2

Monday 3rd February: TBC

Tuesday 11th and Thursday 13th February: Parents Evening

Our Class Theme Song

As Year 2 is a tough year for us, we have decided that we are going to try everything! We love listening to this song and think the message is very inspiring for us too keep going, even when things get tricky. It doesn't matter if we get things wrong so long as we have a go!
