Forest School at Cuxton

Forest School is an inspirational experience that offers ALL learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence, teamwork and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment. Rather than being adult-led, each child chooses and tailors their activities to suit them. This could involve children building shelters, creating treasure hunts, digging, nature exploration or woodland crafts.

We will aim to take children into the forest school in most weathers (unless off course it is too severe), so please ensure that your child has wellies (or suitable outdoor footwear), coats, hats and gloves in school which will take account of changeable weather conditions. These items can be kept in school. All of the children at Cuxton are entitled to this part of our curriculum. Therefore if children do not have suitable clothing and footwear in school, then we will contact you to provide some or loan the child whatever is available from the school stores.

For the classes who access Forest School in the morning, please send your children into school dressed ready for the outdoors, with a school uniform which they can change into afterwards.

Please see below for the day and time in which your child's class will be participating in Forest School.
