Good morning Willow Class!
I hope you and all of your families are well and that you have been enjoying the work set so far. Thank you to everyone who has been emailing me, it's been great to hear about all of the things you have been doing and discover so many hidden talents. Its also been great to speak to some of you on the phone too; for those who haven't heard yet, I will be making more calls this week to try to get through everybody.
In the mean time, I will be staying at home as much as possible, reading as many books as I can, doing some artwork and looking forward to receiving some more fantastic work.
Stay safe and have a great week,
Summer Term Week 3 (w/c 4th May)
Lesson 1 - simplify fractions
Let's have a fraction recap!! Remember to simplify fractions you need to find a number that goes into the top (numerator) and the bottom (denominator) number.
So... 20/45 is divisible by 5 so it also becomes 4/9
Or! You have an improper fraction and you need to see how many wholes (pizzas) go into it.
So... 14/6 ... how many 6s go into 14 to make whole pizzas??
2 whole pizzas ( 12) and 2 left over which becomes 2 2/6 OR 2 1/3. BOOM!
This week we will continue our study of World War II. Try to complete all of, or as many as you can of, the following activities:
Grab some art supplies and get outside to draw/make us something. Take a picture and send it to us so we can put it on the website.
It could be using twigs, leaves and other natural materials.
You could get out the chalks and draw on the patio, you could just draw something outside and find something inspiring within nature.
