Go on a walk and draw your favourite flower, plant or tree that you find- you could paint it, use chalks, or use technology and photograph it from different angles to find out what picture looks best. Talk about why you like it what’s different/similar about it to other flowers/plants/trees. Talk about why more flowers and trees are full of leaves now. Do you know what the leaves do for the trees and why they aren't out in Winter? Send in your lovely work and we can celebrate it in the amazing work folder.

Maths

Starter: Play more than or less than

Get the number cards to 20/30/40. Choose your level of challenge. Mix them up and put one on the floor chd. says if the next number will be more or less then that number. If they are right they get a point. If they are wrong you get a point.

Length

Can you use cubes, cars, spoons, coins or cards to measure different objects around the house. E.g how many cars long is it?

Can you estimate first how many you think it will be? (Remember an estimate is a good guess and just has to be close to the answer). In Reception, it is not required to use rulers and cm to measure objects (year 1) so we use identical objects like cubes, pencils to measure things before moving onto cm). Choose what challenge your child is ready for.
