Complete the attached handwriting sheet.


Read your reading book with an adult or sibling. Adult to ask you questions about what you have read - - Oxford Owl have lots of free reading books that you can download and read!


Before we start, let’s practise all of our sounds - (Phase 3 & 5) Write down the score you get and see if you can beat it tomorrow! If you cannot access phonicsplay, test yourself on the sound mat!


In Phonics, what do you notice about the three sounds we have recapped? They all make the same sound! Same sound, different spelling! The ‘i’ phoneme can also make an igh sound.


Today, I would like you to read the words and sort them into the whether they are ie, i-e, igh or i. Can you add more words to each list?



Tell me a Dragon by Jackie Morris

Have another look at the dragons in the story.  Today, I’d like you to describe a dragon.  There are pictures of some of the dragons on the sheets below.  Choose one of them and write some adjectives and noun phrases to describe it.   Remember to use your best 5* adjectives and noun phrases. 


Break - Grab a healthy snack and a drink and have a break. Could you go outside to get some fresh air?

Use your list from English (where you identified your favourite features) to create the best dragon. Can you use all the amazing features you found? Think about its appearance, powers etc.
