Wednesday 13th May

Remember you're all amazing!

We know and understand that every child and family situation is different and you are all doing an incredible job in these difficult times. Any work that you are able to do with your child/children is a bonus and that your child's well-being and happiness comes first, work second. We know we are putting up a lot of work for your children to cover and this is what we would normally do in a school day. Please don't feel pressured to do it all. We aim to make sure all children experience success and will receive a certificate at some point for their amazing successes, be that academic or otherwise.

Please let us know how many books your child has read for the week by Thursday 4pm. If it is easier, you can let us know today and just add tomorrows books on. We trust you. :) We don't want to add to your workload.

Morning routine

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_GNRDic17E

Run the red carpet and jump over all the obstacles.

Superstars

If you enjoyed the phonics lesson my Mr MC why not try the next one for the sound 'ur'. If not you can just follow the previous weeks lesson format. Re=cap sounds using flash cards and read some words with those sounds in (write them on paper).

1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_eMHC35n24

Watch up to 14m 30s. If you want to complete the writing part go ahead!

2. Recap previous words (use Phase 3 flash word cards below) scatter the word cards around the room. Time children to find the right word and read it you say find- book, find dig etc..

3. Complete the worksheet below.

Topic

Talk about how we are all different. Discuss how humans and animals eat different things. Do your friends/family like to eat the same things?

Today we are learning to use describing words called adjectives.

If you were a caterpillar/other animal, what would you like to eat? Or what else would the hungry caterpillar like to eat?  Choose an animal, draw it and use describing words to label what it would eat. E.g. yummy, sweet chocolate/Soft, chewy sweets/Smelly, hard cheese.

Maths

Starter

Use flashcards to recognise numbers to 20. Challenge: numbers to 50 or 100.

(write the numbers on paper)

Ext: Can you remember 1 more and 1 less than these numbers?

Today we are learning to add two groups of objects to find the total.

Write random number sentences going up to 10 + 10. (Challenge your child so it is tricky for them). Use finger paints or pens to make a caterpillar in spots that represent each side of the number sentence. Use different colours for the different numbers. Can you add both caterpillars together to make the total. (see an example in the resources below)

e.g. 4 + 5 = 9

blue caterpillar 4 dots long   and a red caterpillar 5 dots long.  Add them together to get the total.
