EYFS - Nursery
Key information for the term
Forest explorer sessions
Below are the Term 3 dates for nursery Forest Explorer sessions. Due to the cold weather probably setting in, the children will have flexible sessions where they may only stay out for a short period if too cold for them. We may do an activity together for the session e.g. a nature/frost walk around the field rather than a whole session within the forest school area to keep them moving and warm. Please do send your child in/have available at nursery some warmer clothes/suitable forest school gear and a spare change in case they get wet/muddy.
We will also add these dates to the nursery page on the school website so you have easier access to these dates each term.

Welcome to Cuxton nursery pages
A big warm welcome to you for visiting our nursery pages. We have two classrooms for our 2-3yr old provision called Seedling and Sapling room as well as a large 3-4yr old provision called Acorn room.
Staff spend time in most classes and mix with all ages and get to know all the children which helps with transitions and building trust, familiarity and relationships with all the children in our care.
Our 2-3yr old Seedling and Sapling rooms are run by room leaders with a wealth of experience in providing high quality care and learning environments for 2 and 3 year olds and also come with an experienced team alongside them.
Our 3-4yr old Acorn room is led by Will Worsfold, the Early Years Lead, and Vicki Norris, another experienced and highly qualified member of the team. They are supported by a variety of experienced and dedicated staff who plan and teach together to help children experience a wide and exciting curriculum building on knowledge and skills acquired from our 2-3 year provision to prepare children for Reception and beyond.
These topics are broad to summarise the type of themes within each term. The learning is built up each year so although the topics are the same, the key texts, learning intentions and expectations are raised each year. We still follow the children's interests where topics are fluid and can be swapped around depending on these. There are also deliberate spaces within each topic and within continuous provision so that children's avenues of interest can be followed and built upon allowing for a unique and child-centred curriculum year on year.
