Before we start, let’s practise all of our sounds - https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk/resources/phase/2/flashcards-speed-trials  (Phase 5) Write down the score you get and see if you can beat it tomorrow! If you cannot access phonicsplay, test yourself on the sound mat!

 

For the rest of the term, we are going to be focusing on Phase 5 tricky words. This week, we are focusing on the following tricky words; oh, Mrs, Mr, people, called.

 

Write those 5 words on a piece of paper. Can you read them? Play tricky word splat! Get an adult to point to a word, and you have to read it. Can your adult trick you out?

 

Check out today’s task! You need to find the hidden letters and decode the tricky word. Challenge – Create your own picture and hide the tricky words that we are learning about.

Today we are learning the new grapheme a-e, make a cake (a split e).  We call this a split digraph.  We already know ai (snail in the rain), and ay (may I play).
