Hi Year 1! 

So, unfortunately our bubble has popped! But it’s ok as we have got lots of fun, activities for you to do at home. Now obviously it won’t be the same not being together in school but we can still email and we will see each other properly in September. Below is a list of activities to do today. Enjoy and please send us lots of photos of your smiley faces! :) We have left some messages for you at the bottom of the page. 

The Year 1 Team 

Pick some of the activities that suit your family. Please do not feel like you have to achieve them all. Please make sure you email your work and photos to year1homelearning@academyofcuxton.org 

Phonics/Reading time - Read your book to an adult, sibling or pet. Practise some of the phonics games using the phonics play website. 

English - Yesterday you created the good character for your fairytale. Today you need to use your imagination and fantastic adjectives to create the baddie for your fairytale. Use the worksheet attached or you can use plain paper. Check out the video from Mrs Houghton to help you. 

Maths - Today we are looking at addition and subtraction word problems. Have a look at the worksheets and pick some of the word problems to solve. You could even try to do this independently. Remember to use RUCSAC. Can you email us a word problem of your own? Check out the video from Miss Powell to help you.
