This week we are having a bit of a recap of tricky words. Today I have got a very activity game for you. I have written out some exercises each beginning with a letter of the alphabet, so 26 different exercises. You need to pick a tricky word, spell it out loud and then spell it using the exercises. Have a look at the attached sheet for the exercises. Get moving! 😊

Mrs Emslie and Mrs Houghton’s group:

You are doing so well with your phase 5 sounds.  We are so impressed!

Start by practising the sounds we have learnt so far either with your sound mat or on Phonics Play (choose phase 3 and 5a):

Flashcards Time Challenge (phonicsplay.co.uk)

Now practise the tricky and high frequency words we have learnt so far:

Tricky Word Trucks (phonicsplay.co.uk)

It’s tricky word Wednesday!

Write all the tricky and high frequency words we have learnt so far on a piece of paper each: oh, their, said, so, people, looked, some, come, Mr, Mrs, have, like, called, asked, were, there. Get 2 mugs.  Label one with a yes and one with a no.  Put them on the table.  Read one of the tricky or high frequency words.  If you get it right, scrunch it up and throw it into the ‘yes’ mug.  If you get it wrong, scrunch it up and throw it into the ‘no’ mug.  Repeat until all the words are in the ‘yes’ mug.
