Potions 

 

This term we will explore the idea of 'potions' through lots of different ways. Firstly, we will use our instruction writing skills to write a recipe for a potion that we have invented. From, this we will test our recipes by making the potions!

 

We plan to look at the use of potions in classic texts such as 'Alice in Wonderland' and 'Romeo and Juliet' before exploring the development of the anaesthetic by James Simpson. 

 

Our key text for the term will be The Firework Maker's Daughter. From this, we will explore development of character and setting.

 

We will develop our design technology skills by making our own cauldrons to fit a design brief. This will allow us to look at the design cycle of design, make, test and evaluate in more detail.
