Week 1 22nd Feb - 26th Feb
Hello Year 6!
We hope you had a really nice half term and good break away from the home-learning. What did you get up to? Make sure you let us know when you email in your work, we love seeing your photos!
Mr Brett and I have been enjoying the Spring weather and walking our dogs. We have also been catching up on reading, because we both love doing this, but don't always have the time.
Mr. Brett is reading book 1 of a series called 'Eragon'. It's all about a boy who becomes a dragon rider. He must navigate a perilous new world of magic and destiny with only an ancient sword and old storyteller for guidance.
Mrs. Carman is reading 'The War of the Worlds' by H.G. Wells. This is a Science Fiction novel all about a strange, meteor-like object which lands in the heart of England, the inhabitants of Earth find themselves under attack from a ruthless race of Martians. Will the human race succeed in battle?
We'd love to know what books you have been enjoying reading!
World Book day is on the 4th March, so look out for more information coming soon!
Our new topic for this term is 'Frozen Kingdom'.
Welcome to the planet’s coldest lands... vast wilds, hostile territories, incredibly beautiful yet often deadly. Take shelter from the elements or fall prey to icy winds and deepest chill. Trek bravely and valiantly across treacherous terrain to the ends of the Earth, treading deep in snow or pulled by a team of mighty sled dogs.
So wrap up well everyone and settle by the fire. I’m just going outside and may be some time...
Below is your work for each day of the week. As well as this, you should be aiming to complete the following each day too:
- Reading (your own book or using the rising stars website)
- Times tables (rehearsing your times tables or using TTRS)
- Spellings ( learn the topic words throughout the week and see if someone at home can test you on them on Friday)
Have a great week; we can't wait to see you all soon!
Mrs. C, Mr. Brett, Mrs. Riggall, Mrs. Osborne, Miss Hussein
