“Foundations for Life”

Friday

Hi Year 1,

I hope you've enjoyed your first week of home learning! You've all been fantastic, so give yourselves a BIG pat on the back (you too, adults!). Here's your learning for today...

Friday

Handwriting

Peg race.  Play with a family member.  Get some pegs and paper plates/card/something else sturdy.  Count out 10 pegs each.  Have a race to see who can peg their pegs onto the plate first.  Let me know who wins on your email!

Phonics

Mrs Emslie/Mrs Houghton’s group:

Look at the attached phase 3 sound mat.  See how many of the sounds you can read to an adult, and how many of the tricky words you can read without sounding them out. Today we are re-capping reading and writing words and sentences using the consonant clusters.

Mrs Lenotti’s group

Mrs Hutcheon’s group

Today we are recapping the ‘a-e’ split-vowel digraph. Watch the following video to refresh your minds. Can you read all of the words? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AoSD16T8Puo

Have a watch of this: Phonics - Learn to Read | Magic E & Friends | Letter Teams | Alphablocks - YouTube

Now can you complete the ‘a-e’ worksheet.

English

Today you are going to be creating a poster for all of the information you have learned so far about space. I have attached today’s English video to help you with your learning. Have another look at Mrs Emslie’s video from Monday to refresh your memory too.

I can’t wait to see your finished posters!
