Maths Worksheets - Make Tally Charts T4, W1, L1

Have a go at this quick True or False question!

Guided Reading:

GR/LI: To describe a range of predators.
I can define a predator.
I can name a range of predators.
I can observe a range of animals and describe them using adjectives

What is a predator?
-    A predator is an animal that preys on and eats other animals. The animals that are eaten are called the prey.

Using this definition, can you think of any predators? Make a mindmap of the predators that you can think of. Use the predator list on the website to add any that you missed in a different colour.

Think about the following questions when looking at the animals:

What do they look like? What colour are they? What features do they have such as legs, wings, beaks? Is their skin scaly or smooth? How do they move? How do they sound? What food do they like to eat? Where would they live in the wild? Do they like to live in groups or do they prefer to live alone?

Task:

Look at the pages from a Rising Stars book about predators. (Selected pictures from the book below)

After looking at the animals and thinking about those key questions, you need to complete one of the following tasks:

  1. Medium Level: Can you draw a picture of each of the animals that we have seen today and annotate them with as many adjectives (describing words) as you can to describe that animal?
  2. Hot level: Can you write 3 sentences to describe each of the animals that you have seen today? Remember for great descriptions we need to use adjectives! I challenge you to include 4 adjectives in each sentence...WOAH!!

There is an adjective word mat on the website to help you with both of these tasks.

We can’t wait to read your fabulous descriptions! We would like to put all of our descriptions together to help all of us with both our guided reading and English learning so please send them in if you are at home. By doing this we are helping our friends and showing our community value, yipeee!

Well done today everyone.  Enjoy the rest of your day. Bye! Miss Hunter.

There is a technical difficulty with the video at the moment and we are trying our best to try and ‘fix’ the video.

As you can imagine, it is a bit tricky for us as Miss Giocondi is teaching and she has the original video on her Ipad which seems to have a problem with it.

You may still be able to listen to the video, just don't watch all the way through as the green flashes may make you feel like you are in a disco 😜

Thank you for your understanding.

13.05 - This has now been sorted and re-recorded and uploaded :). Thank you Miss Gioncodi - you are a star 🌟
