Day 1:

Task – Play the ‘aw’ Snakes and Ladders with a family member. When you land on the word, you must read the word. Read it correctly and you get an extra go! |
English | Today’s focus is punctuation. We are going to be looking at full stops, question marks and exclamation marks.
A full stop (.) is used at the end of a normal sentence. A question mark (?) is used at the end of a question. An exclamation mark (!) is used when something is excited or loud.
Task – Read the sentences and add the right punctuation. |

Task – Read the sentences and add the conjunction ‘and’ ‘but’ or ‘or’ in the right place. Challenge – write a sentence, using each of the conjunctions.

Task - Use a different coloured pen to correct my marvellous mistakes. Have I got… Capital letters? Finger spaces? Punctuation (full stops)?
Challenge – write your own version of the sentence – how can you make it more interesting? Could you use amazing adjectives? Some expanded noun phrases?

Today is Tricky Word Friday! Go through the tricky words on the sound mats. Practise the ones you find tricky.

Task – Choose some pictures and write your own super sentences. Have a go at finding new ways to challenge yourself and make your writing interesting.
