Oak Class will have PE on Friday annd Ash Class will have PE on Tuesday. Please can we ask that your child’s earrings are removed or covered before coming into school. PE kits will stay in school for the entire term and will be sent home at each half term.

Ash Class have Forest School this term on a Wednesday. Please read the letter to find out more information.

Phonics

We have now started to learn our Phase 3 sounds. Please continue to support your child to recap the weeks sounds by completing their homework. They will also need to keep practising their oral blending skills and decoding of words as well as reading tricky words. If you need any support with this, please speak to a member of the Reception team.

Home Reading

Your children will continue to bring their school book home between Wednesday and Friday. Please ensure these books are returned on time as they will be needed for another group. If books are not returned on time, a ‘wanted’ slip will make its way home! If books continually do not get returned to school, children will be set ebooks instead.

An additional, shared book will come home on Friday which is for children to enjoy and share with their family. Please return this book on Friday.

Please log all home reads (phonics books, shared books and additional books from home) onto Boom Read. Children are expected to read at least 3 times a week. The more reads your child completes, the more rewards in school they will earn such as certificates, book marks and adding a leaf to the reading tree! The number of reads for each week will be calculated from Monday to Sunday of the previous week.

Things to bring to school every day

A bookbag

A water bottle

A healthy snack

A cardigan/jumper

Please ensure all of your child’s belongings are named! We cannot spend valuable learning time hunting for your child’s belongings if they are not named.
